What to Wear to Summer Concerts
Oooh oooh oooh, DRESS to the music, yes please! Fresh from my inaugural visit to the Hollywood Bowl, the best and most fun fashion advice I can give is: Dress for the show and dress for the scene.
From concerts in the park to full on music festivals, summer sets a special scene for singing and style. Taking cues from the SoCal cult of Coachella, why not take these acoustic events as an opportunity to take fashion risks? It’s a great time to try a trend you’ve been eyeing, but haven’t yet gotten around to. Why not bring some creative self-expression to your favorite crooners?! In so many ways, music creates fashion and fashion creates music, forever in time, the two have intertwined.
Perhaps you’re channeling your Nirvana days or relishing on some modern alternative music – no matter which beat makes you dance, the garage look of the 90’s is inspiring trends of today. Embrace the grunge look with a few key statement pieces, but soften it up by adding a feminine lacy tee.
Headed to an outdoor festival where the fashion is as free-spirited as the music; dress the part and express your inner flower child. Maximize your twirl appeal while staying on-trend with a bright colored maxi from Tog + Porter.
Don a fedora to protect your face and tresses from the sun and play up your bohemian style.
A picnic in the park with some tunes calls for a simple style that is both comfortable and chic. We suggest heading straight to your summer staples in true Tog + Porter style and going for classic with a twist. Give your style a boost with a comfortable and durable wedge and add a couple of chains if you expect the event to roll into the evening.
Stay warm and chic with a denim jacket. Dial it up a notch by cuffing the sleeves and adding a stylish stack of bracelets. Whatever your music mantra, you’ll notice a common theme in all these choices – fun, simple and comfortable shoes (to dance the night away!)
