What to Wear: Graduation
Graduations are sort of like weddings–at some point you’ll undoubtedly ask yourself “What should I wear?” Whether you’re the graduate or the attendee, we’ve got you covered.
Whether you’re collecting a diploma or showing support for someone who is, there are a couple of things to keep in mind when choosing your outfit.
1. This is Academia— You’ll be surrounded by professors, deans and other families so keep it classy. Don’t wear anything too short, too tight or too revealing. If you’re wearing a strapless bra or top, make sure you have the appropriate bra and/or security. This is no time for a wardrobe malfunction.
2. Prepare for the Heat— It’s May and depending on where you live, this can mean high temps. Avoid looking shiny in your photos by stashing some blotting papers in your purse. If you’re prone to sweating, you might also want to invest in some garment guards.
3. Look Smart— Everyone will think you’re a genius when their heels are sinking into the ground and you’re effortlessly floating across the lawn. To accomplish this: either wear flats, wedges or purchase a pair of sole-mates
