Want to make your whole house smell good?
With temperatures dropping and wet weather ahead of us, you’ll probably be spending more time at home. One quick and easy way to create a warm, cozy, and inviting surrounding is to make your place smell great! You can do this by making your own stovetop scent with just a few ingredients. Let it simmer for a couple hours and before you know it, you’ll have visitors asking why it smells so great. Here’s one of our favorite recipes, but have fun with it. Experiment with different ingredients and food scraps you have laying around.
Here’s one of our favorite recipes, but you should try experimenting with adding different ingredients too.
Add ingredients to a medium size pot or a small crock-pot. Add 2-3 cups of water, filling the pot about halfway.
- Juice and peel from one orange
- Juice and peel from one lemon
- 2 Cinnamon sticks
- 4 whole cloves
Then turn your burner to low and let your homemade aroma simmer for a couple of hours. Check the water level every now and again, making sure nothing burns. You can add more water if needed.
Some ingredients we’re excited to try this season: mint leaves, peppermint tea, cranberries, pine needles, honey, and vanilla.
