Tuesday Quick Tip

4.23.2013 WRITTEN BY Maureen T+P Blog Central, Tuesday Tips

In a shoe mood? What girl isn’t?!  Whether you have an old pair of shoes you just can’t get rid of (but are in desperate need of some sprucing up) or are just wanting to craft some spring style, you can do so with anything already in your closet. Extend the wear and add some flash to your feet with this toe trend. Metallic will still be buzzing from spring into summer and we’re loving an easy edge with just some spray paint.

Metallic Capped
Gold, silver, rose gold – whichever way you shine — grab a can of spray paint, a roll of painter’s tape, your pick of shoes and you’re ready for a whole new style. Our friends at Refinery29 posted this DIY recently and we had to share.

Tape where you want the color to end. (You might also want to tape the sole JIC)

step1

Use a plastic bag and wrap un-tapped portion of shoe in it, leaving only the portion of the shoe you want painted exposed. They used newspaper in this DIY, but I’ve found plastic bag to be more effective.

Step2Spray paint (you might want 2 coats for cover).

Step3Allow to dry 10 minutes then remove bag and tape, then allow to dry overnight.

Step4Voila! Brand new shoes!! Because accessorizing your feet is also essential!
