Sometimes It Is Just Black and White

Who says spring is only for pastels? Black and white never goes out of style, no matter the season or reason. It achieves the ultimate balance of dark and light which creates harmony.

wweThis year we are seeing bold contrast with black and white popping up all over the streets and runways.  Here are some ways you can look chic and not look like the Hamburglar.

You can keep it simple and structured maintaining the black and white palette with a fitted blazer to tone down the graphic print.  This combination is perfect for the workplace and a great way to transition to evening.  The checkered print is in for spring while houndstooth should be packed away and return to during your winter and fall cycle.

A triangle or chevron print is flattering on most body types as the inverted V patterns distract away from the tummy area.  You can go bold with accessories flashing a pop of color that doesn’t compete with the eye-catching print.  And let’s face it ladies, when else are we really going to wear those yellow neon pumps?

If you rather limit the trend to accessories, try a graphic or colorblock handbag with a solid palette or be daring with mixing patterns of the same variety to maintain balance.
