Navy is the Gravy

9.13.2012 WRITTEN BY Maureen T+P Blog Central, What to Wear

Harsh hues be ware, there is a new player in town and she flatters everyone!

With basics like black or chocolate being too dark for some – and too heavy for a lot of the vibrant hues still going into fall, navy is a nice new neutral to test out.  With colorful undertones, any shade compliments skin tones and mixes easily into an existing wardrobe.

Gently toning down some of summer’s hot hues, navy mixes really well with neons and pastels to create the perfect transitional look.  Navy and grey (remember this season’s other standout) are also a great mix of staples allowing for some contrast.  The ultimate fall pallet includes a blend of deep browns with navy, and if you’re a fashion rule breaker – navy + black is a daring and oh-so-pretty fusion.

Navy also speaks to the classic side of style and can luckily be found in pieces from head to toe.  Everything from a cotton tee shirt to an interesting suede bootie, not only will you find yourself reaching for pieces in this color to complete your looks – they will become lasting go-tos for seasons to come.

From classic to courageous, Navy can really help to define your style.
