More Bounce to the Blouse

Question from a Reader:

Hi Angela,
I’m searching for the perfect sheer blouse I’ve seen in stores, magazines, and on the streets this season.  However I’m 5′ tall, petite framed, and lack shoulders.  I’m having a hard time finding a shirt that fits me and doesn’t lose all shape of my figure.
Help, please!

Dear Vanessa:
Thanks for writing in!  I would focus my search on blouses that gives a bold shoulder rather than following trends.  Think Mary Kate on your quest as she balances flowy with structure to complement her petite frame.

Here are few options to assist you in your search:

Lace

Lace
Black lace is classic yet daring.  The coverage provided in this blouse is strategic and draws attention to arms and shoulders while the zig zags layer underneath elongates the torso.

Cargo Pockets

Cargo Pockets
The placement of the front pockets is in line with the shoulder, bringing the eye upward with less focus on the midsection.

Georgette Sleeves

Georgette Sleeves
The georgette sleeve is romantic and provides emphasis on the shoulder and wrist while slimming the arm.

Tie Front

Tie Front
If you are looking for a sleeveless option, a tiny print with a tie front bow gives a retro yet gamine vibe.
