Landscape Prints

7.10.2013 WRITTEN BY Stephanie Inspiration, New Trends, T+P Blog Central

Nature inspires designers time and time again. We saw Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s love of landscapes quite literally in Rodarte’s fall 2011 runway collection. The duo was one of the first to jump on the digitally printed trend, which has since flourished and can be seen splashed across H&M billboards everywhere.

They’ve also been spotted on fashion forward celebrities like Drew Barrymore and Michelle Williams, but there are some things to be wary of if trying to sport this look. The patterns are often wide and printed horizontally, so  Adding a belt at the waist helps break up the print  makes sure it wont swallow you up (we’re lookin’ at you Michelle Williams…).

Another DON’T when wearing landscape prints is pairing prints together.  It’s just far too much going on, the prints end up competing with each other and leaving you in the dust. Pairing solids with the landscape print is the best way to wear them.
