Lace With a Pop of Color Please!

4.19.2012 WRITTEN BY Ellie How to Wear, Style Guide

Lace was all over the spring 2012 runways.  One new twist we’re crazy about is pairing lace with bold color.

But how do you take this style from the runway to the sidewalk? For work, lace and color are a daring (but acceptable!) combo, so use accessories sparingly — bangles, a pendant necklace or simple hoop earring are perfect when paired with a knee length lace skirt and bold silk button down. T+P feature designers,  Equipment or 213 Industry add a pop of sophisticated color.

Weekends are a great opportunity to be a little more daring and really flex your fashion muscle (don’t worry, we’ll help get you there!) Pair a cute pair of lace shorts with a printed top. We love a polkadot tank, nautical stripe boatneck top or butterfly print blouse finished off with a nude Bernardo flat sandal. Here’s a roundup of some of our favorite looks.

I love the lace! It’s so nice to have that feminine feel but not in a sweet and gooey way. The bold colors with it make it appropriate even for those who would never dream of wearing girly girly styles. Even we mature fashion lovers would feel “modern” with this confident, colorful approach.

Thanks for stopping in Danielle! Your shirt sounds awesome, comfy means you’re more likely to wear it, which is great. Comfy and cute is what we strive for. If you need any help hunting down something lace, let us know. We’d also love to see a pic of your shirt. Maybe you could post on our fb page and then we could offer some suggestions for you. http://www.facebook.com/TogandPorter
