Hot and Humid Summer Days

6.19.2013 WRITTEN BY Camilla Style Guide, T+P Blog Central

The dog days of summer can be extra daunting when temperatures near 100 degrees with high humidity. We want to keep looking our best, but it isn’t always the easiest. In addition to shorter hemlines and sleeveless tops, lightening your color palette and wearing breathable fabrics is a must. Casual outings cry for the seasons must piece: the printed short. Pair a fun pair with an eye-popping print back to a sleeveless cotton tank and add simple sandals and jewelry for a less is more effect.

The office is one of the most challenging settings to dress for when temperatures soar and humidity is high. This is where keeping the color palette light is essential. Crisp white is a great go to, no matter what the piece. A white shorts suit (in a modest length, of course) or white cigarette pants back to a light weight peplum top would both be home runs for this environment.

The good news is that these are the perfect weather conditions for those fun “dare to be bare” looks you reserve for evenings out with friends or your honey.  A slinky dress with small straps or a back baring top back to lightweight colored skinnies will not only keep you cool, but make you the envy of the party!
