High Temp Office Wardrobes
The dog days of summer are officially here. Which begs the question, “How do I dress for work and still keep my cool?” The answer lies in the type of office environment you work in. Is your office trendy and progressive in its approach to fashion or does it err on the side of conservative? Either way, we’ve got you covered.
Our first suggestion would be the shorts and blazer look. Of course you wouldn’t want to go too short on the length of your shorts, but this is an optimal way of feeling professional and on trend all at the same time. Right above the knee is a good start for shorts in the office. A trendy office can also lend itself to a shirt dress. Pick a breathable fabric such as polished cotton in either a solid cotton with a contrasting belt or a fun pattern. A sleeveless sheath dress in a vibrant color and knock ’em dead with shoes and accessories is another no fail plan and office appropriate.
The key here is to stay with the pieces you are already comfortable with. Pick them up in lighter weight fabrics (pencil skirts, sheath dresses, trousers, tops, cardigans, fitted blazers – you get the picture) and add splashes of color. We even like the idea of taking a conservative top and pair of trousers and color blocking them. Pick two of the seasons go to colors and voila! You are maintaining the status quo of the office, while letting a little summer brightness shine in.
