Camilla’s Fall Must-Haves

Although the temperatures are still soaring, September is in sight and I’ve suddenly got fall on my mind. In preparation of impending cooler temperatures, I’ve put together a list of fall musts. Texture and print is vital this fall. Think shearling, houndstooth, subtle plaids, a touch of camo, colored leather, velvet burnout, and jacquard. Couple these textures and prints with spirited hues – deep orchid, persimmon, ink blue, and cognac and your wardrobe will be living in the moment.

A bodysuit in a luxe, soft fabric is on the short list for all. Such a versatile piece – it can be dressed up with a pencil, skater, or maxi skirt taking you to the office or out for cocktails. For a casual effect, it partners nicely with a pair of dark wash skinny jeans and a vibrant over-sized sweater, another go-to fall piece.

Jacquard in the form of a beautifully structured dress is gracing the very top of my fall list.

Fall won’t be begging for heavy coats, but it is always a plus to have a lightweight jacket handy. I can’t resist a cape and am on the hunt for one in houndstooth with leather trim for this fall in particular. We loved colored leather all spring and summer, so the idea of a lightweight leather jacket in an ink blue has me all aflutter, but any of the fall colors would make for a delicious leather jacket.
