Booties of Different Heights

7.10.2013 WRITTEN BY Noah How to Wear, Style Guide, T+P Blog Central

Booties have been “in” now for a couple of years, and it looks like they’re here to stay. Incredibly dynamic, there’s a bootie for every occasion and every outfit. Often it’s the length of the top of the bootie, or the height, that determines what you should and shouldn’t wear them with.

Super short booties are great with skirts, even in summer! Because they bear your ankles, these have a tendency to look more delicate and appropriate for warm weather. Pair with a flouncy skirt and a light summer blouse.

Mid height booties are my weekend essential and look great with jeans. Get a pair with a low heel for comfort, and  just add a super soft tee and an oversize cardigan for a stylish but casual look.

Then there’s the “I don’t know whether to call it a boot or a bootie” length. It’s kind of a low boot and kind of a high bootie. Trust us when we say that this length can be the most flattering. The extra height when paired with super skinny pants or tights/leggings can add lots of length to your legs- as long as the pants fit seamlessly into the booties and do not bunch. Wear with a flowy silk blouse to add a little volume on top and balance out the streamlined proportions of your lower half.
