April Showers

Many of us feel once spring arrives it’s all about flowers and sunshine; we conveniently forget about the inevitable rainy days early spring also brings. The saying ‘April showers bring May flowers’ came from somewhere. However, you shouldn’t have to sacrifice style for changing weather.  Here are some ways to stay dry and fly.

Blake and Leighton show us how it’s done with a plastic dome bubble umbrella.  The transparency allows for unrestricted visibility while not clashing with your outfit! The shape also protects you from obtrusive sideways rain, stylish and practical are two favorites for any accessory. Did you know you can also get them with a colored trim?

Burberry takes the cake for the ultimate classic umbrella, especially if Eddie Redmayne is holding it.

Sure Hunter Wellies are a fashion favorite every rainy season thanks to fashion muse Kate Moss but are they really practical?  They look great with skinny jeans but I find them a bit too clunky for most occasions. Try a rubber bootie that looks great with skinny jeans and skirts while allowing greater versatility and movement.

It wouldn’t be a rainy day post without mentioning the classic trench. Vamp up this spring favorite by adding an embellishment, new detail, fun color, or pattern. RED Valentino had one of the most interesting we’ve seen awhile this season.
