5 Accessory Trends for Fall 2015
This fall’s accessory trends run the gamut, from ladylike pearls to funky platforms (think Hot Topic). Follow this guide to navigate through fall’s five hottest trends.
1.) Looking Glovely
Elbow length gloves were a staple accessory on fall runways, from Prada’s Ready To Wear collection to Miuccia, these puppies took on their own identity. When paired with casual basics, a simple pair of gloves can bring your outfit to the next level. Just slipping a pair on instantly makes you feel more chic. So go ahead and embrace your inner Olivia Pope this season, we won’t tell.
2.) Pearls, Pearls, Pearls.
Pearls are a rare find in the ocean but they were in abundance on fall runways. Stella McCartney gave them a fresh sophisticated twist, while Givenchy’s outlandish face piercings shocked even the front row. But as one of our favorite style icons, Jackie Kennedy said, “Pearls are always appropriate.”
3.) New Shoes on the Block
Nicknamed the “legging boot” by Vogue, thigh-high boots are one of the hottest shoes of the season. The motto seems to be “the higher and sleeker, the better. We’ve caught ourselves lusting over this pair from Calvin Klein.
Next on the list: the platform. Alexander Wang and Balenciaga are determined to bring the 90’s back. Who are we to judge? Only tip if you’re brave enough to sport, look for a pair with some serious grip on the bottom. The edgier the better. We’re in awe of Alexander Wang’s moon-walker platform. Bonus points in our book, for its deep red, marsala-like hue.
Last but not least, chunky block heels are back again. And who else could so elegantly revive this look? Chanel. We love how sophisticated and polished this pair is.
4.) Trunk Love
Our inner 90’s child couldn’t stop thinking about our favorite Caboodle back in the day when we saw this trend. Now we have the adult version!
5.) So Polished
This year the most lust-worthy colors polished the runway. We have so many favorites, it’s hard to choose, but here’s the three you’re def going to need.
Audacity from Jin Soon – A smoky cabernet wine color that adds just the right amount of drama to any outfit.
Essie in Aruba Blue– An electric blue shade that makes a big statement. We suggest keeping the rest of the outfit neutral.
Butter in British Racing Green– A dark forest green color that has been a staple on the runway.
